The Southeast Michigan Regional Transit Authority (RTA) plans to ask voters across metro Detroit to approve a 1.2 mill property tax on the November ballot that would raise $2.9 billion over the next 20 years to fund a bus rapid transit system and a commuter rail line between Detroit and Ann Arbor.  The master plan will eventually be presented to the RTA's 10-member board for approval and ballot language.  The Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation is expected to launch a vote-yes campaign a month or two before the election and RTA will spearhead an informational campaign as well.
