Results: Pass, 70% - 30%

Metro in LA County has formally placed Measure M on the November 8th ballot.  This measure would renew the current Measure R, a half-cent sales tax funding transportation in the county.  It also includes a request for an additional half-cent sales tax to expand and improve light rail and subway lines.  The measure could raise up to $120 billion over 40 years for transit and road improvements, although the new half-cent sales tax would be permanent.  It is estimated it would bring in $860 million annually.
