What is CFTE?
The Center for Transportation Excellence (CFTE) is a clearinghouse
for information in support of quality transportation choices. CFTE
is committed to two main objectives: (1) defending the merits of
transit and (2) equipping local leaders with the information they
need to be successful with their public transportation initiatives
and ballot measures.
How can I contact CFTE?
You can contact CFTE via email at info@cfte.org or by phone at (202)
244-2405. You can also write to us at 4000 Albemarle Street, NW,
Suite 303, Washington, DC 20016.
How is CFTE different from other transportation groups?
While there are numerous organizations working to improve
transportation in the U.S., CFTE is the only organization with a
strong emphasis on keeping track of the critics of public transportation
and helping local groups pass transit initiatives. We are a relatively
small organization that strives to stay on the cutting edge of transit
issues. Our responsiveness to new challenges and our desire to help
communities win at the ballot box makes CFTE unique.
How often is this website updated?
This website is updated frequently, usually several times
a week. Our reports, news briefs and information pages usually contain
appropriate publication dates, but if you have a question about
how old a specific item or fact is, please feel free to contact
us.
What services does CFTE provide
CFTE provides information via this website, responds to media requests
and collects research and reports on transportation issues. We also
draft op-eds and letters to the editor, track transit ballot measures
at the local and state levels and train community leaders to respond
to transit critics.
